This is an average set of pliers. They have a very weak amount of force at the tip when closed tight. They work nicely for retrieving fish hooks from a fish. The pliers did not close all the way when I first got them, I had to cut a bit of the yellow plastic rim at the top of the handle grip to make it close completely.
